BBC? ITV? They Are All Crap.

Mannion, ITV, and Horrocks, BBC.

The Guardian today reports on a spat between Peter Horrocks, Head of News at the BBC, and his counterpart David Mannion, of ITV News.

In a nutshell, Horrocks is accusing ITV News of "sensationalising" reports of the "Belgium" sighting of Madeleine McCann, while Mannion is saying that Horrock's stance is fuelled by sour grapes, as BBC News overlooked giving the "sighting" any prominent air time.

I really wouldn't worry about it guys.

BBC, ITV - and Sky - the standard of your reports to date on the disappearance abduction of Madeleine McCann has been fucking disgraceful from day one.

Where is the objective journalism/investigative reporting in this case?

Together with your counterparts in the print media, you have whitewashed the facts; while any right thinking person will instinctively know that leaving young children alone is abhorrent, you have chosen to not only ignore this aspect of the McCanns' conduct, but to treat us sheep with a whole series of talking-heads in an attempt to assure us that it is normal behaviour, and that we have all done it?

The public are angry with you, Mr Horrocks, and with you, Mr Mannion and with Murdoch, and all of your co-conspiritors who subscribe to your very own "pact of silence".

The public are angry with you, and that is what should be worrying you now.

Hi Elmer,
The media organisations in this country who instead of reporting the news, which is, at the end of the day what they get fucking paid for, decided it would be a much better idea to spend most of the last four months polishing Gerry's end.
Why they have colluded with this charade, is a bloody great mystery to me, seing as they are usually ready to shaft anyone in the news for the price of a G&T.

I can only assume that the McCanns ( Alleged) swingers network included every broadcast and print jounalist in Britain, and that Gerry opens each press conference by passing round a few of his favourite snaps, with a stern warning that there are plenty more where they came from.

A real low point was the standing ovation he got from the police. row upon row of Mr Plods, applauding a man who fucked off to the pub with his sour-faced wife, leaving their three year old babysitter to look after the kids.

It has felt at times, like one of those 1960's Sci-Fi movies, where the aliens enslave a village, and you can tell who has had their brain wiped, as they are the ones with a little breathing tube sticking out of their neck.

If I hear one more stupid bleating media bimbo whining on about " how the parents must be feeling right now ", I will inflict bodily harm on them.

I tell you how they should be feeling - Shitting themselves, if they've got any sense. Because at the end of the day, it will be the PJ, and its little man in a cheap suit, who arrives to cart then away. And no amount of bullshit from Sky News and the tabloids will help them then. Roll on the day.

Veritas:

I cannot help but agree with every point you make.

Except your first one...

The media organisations in this country who instead of reporting the news, which is, at the end of the day what they get fucking paid for...

The media organisations to which you refer are there only to ostensibly report "the news".

The "real" news (as opposed to the guff that they spoon-feed us), is all the stuff that the media organisations choose (or are told from on-high), to suppress.
